Electronic limiter removal

Hey everyone! I recently just acquired a 2002 Freightliner FS65 with the 5.9 and the Allison 2000 series transmission. I am wanting to remove the speed limiter. It is at 70 right now... and yes I know some are going to say that's plenty fast, but I would like to have the ability to pass a semi if needed on 94 and not have a super long line of cars behind me. Anybody near the St. Paul MN know where or how I can do this?

If your bus is doing 70 at roughly 2600 rpm, You are at engine red line and are not gpingmt o go any faster with out a gearing change

I had the same question when i got my bus. Same drive train as yours. Bottom line is you don't want to go any faster in these buses. it is not designed to go over 65. Too easy to get out of control and if you hit something it will destroy it.

Relax and enjoy the scenery. That's why there are so many windows.

If you're getting 70 and only seeing 2100 that's really decent. You'll need to see a freightliner or Cat service shop or buy a connector and some software. Probably going to cost you a couple hundred either way. The service shop may even be able to give your engine a horsepower bump while they're at it depending on your engine's current rating.

im the same 70 at 2100 but i got a few years older cat without a computer. had it up to 80 but backed off as i did not need a ticket. on the way home it was nice to have the power to pass the slow semis.
