Can a person replace a head bolt one at a time with studs without pulling the head? I think not.

those guys got me looking at that stuff now and i'm on the fence and need to learn more.

a couple of factors for a wait and see.
it was a mild hp upgrade, 30hp at best. if i started at 190hp, (mind you my motor has 320K miles on it) its no better than 220hp right now. not the huge hp upgrades that are common on those forums.

mine is a virtually a '94 dodge cummins. in 96, the factory power was 215hp on the same 12v motor.

i also read (and confirmed) you can buy a brand new head for $499 on ebay. and spend the same amount on upgraded head bolts. so it would seem that a new top end is cheap and doable. maybe that's next winter's project.

the truck is back together and running like a top. i'm going to enjoy it this summer.
