Howdy, if this is in the wrong place please tell me. I'm new at this and have LONG way to go before we even start this process. I'm currently shopping buses more for information and learning than anything at this point so any information is helpful.
This site (the lot from which I live a measly 1700 miles from) have buses i'm interested in, but am guessing are a little overpriced since well... Vegas!

They have a few of these 03s with the Cummins 8.3l and an Allison 5 speed. They all have close to 250k on the odo.
I've read that engine can achieve many more miles than that and I've also read there are problems with the Allison's. I'm not sure if that is enough info about the transmission to determine if it's good for my purposes. I've read that the clutch might should be changed on these if going the mountain thing (which we may want to do).
I want to get the most info about engines that I can. I can work my way around a few auto related things, but every time I read a post about engines here I get lost.
Please handle me gently, I'm new.
