Oil Pressure Issues

I have this problem with my oil pressure gauge reading about 95 psi at idle and 98 when loaded. Someone on here sometime ago said that most likely it is the oil pressure sending unit. So I decided to get it changed before I hit the road this Friday.

Where will I find that switch? I have a 1999, 5.9 Cummins rear eng., with 24 valves. I have found the fuel filter, external trans filter, and shame on me, I don't remember seeing the oil filter. It was late so I get back under there tomorrow.
Anyway the parts guy said that it should have 3 wires coming off of it. But where is located. Thanks.

Don't some oil pressure gauges show the maximum when their wires are shorted? It could be as simple as a short somewhere, maybe?

John

I've had a failed oil pressure sensor cause the gauge to show excessively high readings.

More than once, if memory serves me correctly.
