What?! I just drove up from Salt Lake City to Butte, MT - I was going to drive up to Kalispell or Big Fork to find a place to park for a few days.
What way are you heading back?

Progress has been really slow, yesterday was the first dry day here in what seems like months but the grounds are still flooded from the previous day's rain. Today the heat and sun are back in force! But if I can finish mounting new markers today then my next several steps are all inside.

Same here. I've given up on getting anything done this summer. I'm just gonna focus on work and the VW project till it cools off and the rains calm down.

Heading West!
I have been living in theBiggieBus for over a year. What a wonderful way to spend a year - I started in Florida (cruised through FL, GA, SC) - ventured to Montana for the Summer - out to Virginia to see family in August / September - and now I am headed West. Hoping to hit the California Coast next week.

Over 22,000 miles in a year - and 2225 gallons of Diesel Fuel...

What a fun journey. Odin and I are living the dream.
Thanks goes out to all those who have helped - supported - believed.

Thanks for sharing! If that doesn't motivate the rest of us to "get out there"...nothing will!

Congratulations, great job, We are set to follow you with a planned departure date of 28 Dec from State College. I have one more machine to install in South Carolina and it looks I will do that at the beginning of this trip. Will see how the aircraft engine overhaul facility customer reacts on delivery by transit bus haha. Are you stopping at the pallooza in quartzsite?

Safe travels, Johan

Skooliepalooza

Jan 14 - 21 is the Skoolie gathering in Quartzsite, AZ. I was in that area a few weeks ago - it's pretty neat. It's very bus friendly. If I was going to build another bus - I would consider doing it there over the winter - a lot of resources in the area - from used RV parts to solar.

I am hoping to get back there for the gathering - but took a detour to the Grand Canyon for Christmas.

It was very cold at the Grand Canyon - but the fire was so delightful...

There is great BLM areas all through Arizona. I am now near Lake Havasu City (with all the popular box stores and a Planet Fitness!).

Anyone else heading over to Quartzsite next week?

We ended up skipping Arizona on our trip because we would be crossing through at the same time as they were closing airports because it was too hot to land planes. We've both been through there several times in the past and love the area and are really looking forward to spending some time there again soon!

Derek and Amy will be there, Roger. I have a cruise on the 26th, or I'd be there. Will we see you at the Florida Swarm in February?

Keeping the bus warm for the winter is challenging - I am not looking to head back to Florida any time soon - but one never knows where fate may lead...

I have always felt at home near the mountains.

I don’t know how I managed without my wood stove. The cubic mini grizzly keeps the bus warm and dry.
If you are contemplating a wood stove - I recommend just doing it. Cubicmini.com or tinywoodstoves.com are two great products.
