I thought our hopes of potroast had been dashed but apparently we'd gotten sirloin instead.
Got a beef shoulder roast next.

That looks yummy!

I LOVE good bread but in order to maintain my girlish figure I have had to cut way down. Enough that I don't bake any more.

Our Kroger was substituting shoulder for chuck as they are basically the same cut. The sirloin was a bonus though.

Thank you, it was good.

When we first got married, we had new home-made bread almost every day. After the weight began to pile on, we stopped. Now we tend to have it on occation.

We went to the "special seniors-only" shopping hour at our local Walmart. DO NOT waste your time. The shelves looked the same as they did on Saturday afternoon. The reason is that there were about as many Walmart employees shopping for online pick-up orders as there were customers ... and they were at it way earlier than any of us seniors could even enter the door!

We also got some cubed steaks and ny strips today in our delivery.
She decontaminates everything before it comes in the house, too.

We are fortunate in that was have a few ribeye steak in the freezer purchased before the outbreak (fromKroger) for$4.99/lb. Yet another reason I like Kroger.

Just pan fried the cubed steaks and Roxy made some roasted potatoes.
We had grilled ny strips yesterday.
No pics we were too hungry.

Lunch we split a can of soup and a grilled cheese.

I was lamenting the disappearance of bagels from stores - and lo and behold I got a dozen in my Shoprite pickup order today. I'm not even going to complain that half of them are raisin, pumpernickel or asiago cheese (easily the worst bagel in history).

While it's not something I cooked, we found that the bakery in town was advised as a "necessary service" and should remain open, albeit with phone orders only. We got coconut macaroons, raspberry bars, lemon cookies, and cream puffs. Gotta keep the local businesses afloat, right? ;) The local pizza is also stupendous!

Tonight for dinner, the wife made taco soup - also delicious! Thankfully we're not out of corn chips yet...

Chris

Lol they're in the oven another 90 minutes or so.

Turns out I will be live streaming some friends on the west coast at that same time so it works out well.

My mom has discovered teleconferencing and is delighted with it, it's nice to see.

Eating dinner at 1130. Supposed to be going to Kroger at 8 a.m. to see if they have any meats for the stepdaughter. I'll rest when I'm (really) old.Click image for larger version

Yummy ... remind me of the ribeye steaks we had for dinner tonight. No pictures though. I never think of that until after dinner and I am reading this thread.

Oh, those ribs are KROGER ribs ... I just KNOW they really did taste good!

Our ribeye steaks were also from Kroger, so I know the quality.

Looks tasty! Glad I didn't see this last night.

My biggest complaints about living in Philly have always been the scarcity of good Mexican food and the complete absence of BBQ. I guess the coronavirus has solved that problem, relatively speaking.
