Home Cookin' Thread

Since most of us are going to be stuck at home for a while, I thought it would be cool to have a thread to post meals and food and stuff that we cook. I dunno, maybe this is more Instagram stuff but at least here you know it's not an ad (maybe).

I made bread and crackers yesterday:

Please post the recipe for the crackers. Do you use your regular bread recipe and just make it real thin like a thin-crust pizza?

Cracker recipe: https://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-mak...-kitchn-186144

It's a lot like my personal pizza dough recipe, but twice the sugar, salt and olive oil. I roll it real flat (like 1/8") and cook them at 450F.

My mom likes them but she prefers club-style crackers which I'm going to try making next. Club crackers also have butter (a lot), milk and baking powder.

I like the club crackers too. You may have inspired me to make a loaf ...

Argggg ... they emptied out the flour aisle too!

All funnin' aside, I am still looking for flour. We are running low and I do not think I have enough for a loaf. Been wanting to make some for a few days now. We did make an interesting bisquette recipe two days ago:

1 Cup Flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbl mayonnaise
1/2 Cup milk
Preheat oven at 350 degrees F

Mix together and put into 6 cups of a muffin pan. Cook for 15 minutes or until done and golden brown.

The recipe was posted online and said 180 degrees ... failed to mention that it was Celsius! Once the temperature was corrected they were surprisingly good considering the use of mayonnaise.

That sounds tasty. Sorry about your flour situation, hopefully that will correct itself. When people first started assaulting the grocery stores a lot of stuff was impossible to get (like bread) but it's mostly all become available again (except disinfectant and TP).

The flour thing kind of sucks because I imagine a lot of people bought a lot of it without really knowing how to cook with it, and it's going to sit largely unused (except by pests, eventually).

Our publix delivery came. we got spoiled bacon, no pot roast, no soup. Bread and cheese though.
We've got macaroni, one tv dinner, and some spaghetti stuff.
Haven't made the brownies we just got stoned and slept all day.

Roxy just informed me that The brownie mix is in fact Ghiradelli triple fudge.
We don't make medicated brownies or foods as much anymore. I get concentrated thc extract in syringes and I just squirt it on whatever I'm eating.

I haven't had enough appetite to eat for the last couple days. Starting to slowly get that back.

If I weren't so freaked out the publix was supposedly restocked today. I'm not risking it.
I'm actively avoiding the news. I accidentally just went onto the front page of reddit. Ugh

She made some old fashioned macaroni and cheese to go with our frozen dinner.
Went well with a slice of wonder bread!

Mmmm mac-n-cheese good food for the soul.

Since this is a food thread, I made green chile enchiladas and beans for dinner tonight. Now we have a few days of freezer food for later.

Sorry Publix fell through for you. Make a few calls tomorrow! You know if we were there we would bring some dishes for y'all.

Edit: Good call on the Ghirradeli's brownies, Roxy!

Damn man, you can crawl under your bus and take pics of your rusty air tanks, but no pics of your enchiladas?

Nope! By the time they are done cooking, we are WAAAAAYYYYYY to ready to eat them. Perhaps some day. Besides, I've never been one to post pictures of my meals.

I make most of my money shopping and delivering for people at Publix. And Kroger. I love Publix but their restocking right now is horrible. Here in Savannah anyway. One Kroger here as well has trouble, but the two smaller ones seem to be filling their shelves better. Nobody has rice or beans. Or pasta.

I don't even know if you have a Kroger down there but you might try their delivery.

Glad you're feeling better. I didn't comment in the other thread but I was worried for you.

No grocery delivery out here. You are making me jealous

We just threw a sirloin roast and some veggies in the Instant Pot. Dinner tonight then sandwiches tomorrow.

We love Kroger ... especially the meat and dairy. Unfortunately, the nearest Kroger to Florida is in Georgia!

No kroger here.

Yeah, it was pretty bad for a while. I'm still real anxious but much improved.
