This is what us Crownaholics and Gilligans did on a nice sunny Saturday in the California desert:
It's about the most fun anyone can have with their clothes on. My bus, the Super II with one of its solar panels extended up, was parked between my friend's 4WD Gillig shorty and American LaFrance fire truck. The fully-restored blue Crown tour bus was essentially just like the day it came out of Crown's factory, perfect in every way, and it's still in commercial use in Northern California. The monster tandem Crown with an overdrive ten-speed isn't a 70 MPH bus - it's much faster than that, and it climbs long 6% grades such as Cajon Pass as fast as or faster than cars! There really isn't any substitute for 14 liters and over 300 HP and a thousand lb/ft of grunt.
