Pets in Skoolies

Does anyone have any dogs/cats traveling with them in their skoolie? I really want to get one started but I can't leave my dog, she's pit/lab, behind when I travel. If y'all have any pets, please let me know how they deal with the skoolie.

Buddy is right at home with the bus!
But, each breed's needs will be different and each dog will be different!

I posed sort of the same question back in November...

Now I've never been in a Skoolie, but in my other experience it depends on the pet.
Some Love Travel/Movement Some do not.
As far as the ones who don't enjoy the movement- Since skoolie is so much bigger than regular sized vehicle maybe they would have a better time.
Being a pit/lab id think she'd love it as long as she got enough exercise outdoors
I plan to get a Service dog asap. One of the first things im going to do once my home is liveable. Can't wait!

But really, on a more serious note. I once tried to put my dog (lab/pit mix) in a kennel in the bus while traveling from Sacramento to Utah. Somehow I thought this would keep things better.

Nope.

After an hour or so of whining I just let the thing out and with me. Never been better. He was awesome as soon as he wasn't in the cage and was great for weeks while I stayed in the bus. They tend to do pretty well just hanging out; in the end it's their home too.

Pajamas kitty love her bus home, and when we roll she has her bed and hiding places to cozy up in so it doesn't stress her like sitting in a cage on the seat of the truck, which was the longest 6 block drive to the bus ever.

If i know anything about these fur friends is that they want to be with us no matter what.
Never met one that enjoyed being in a cage.
Good luck!

At one point i had three dogs living with me in my bus ! On the wall facing the rear , of the bottom step was where i located the Doggie door , it freaked out the poor souls that did not know and knocked on the door ! There was enough room between the tank and the wall for the dogs to get in and out. One of my dogs forced my hand at the interior design , i mounted the bed so it would slide to the windshield when parked and slide and lock just behind my head , when underway. I had to do this cause he freaked out all the time when id drive , he was always looking out the window , when i moved the bed he was a super happy camper , always right behind me looking down the road!! Aah Buckey you where a good one !! Nobody ever messed with my rig thats for sure !! And i never felt bad about leaving them in there , great ventilation, plenty of shade and water, mine loved it , its was there home after all!

We travel with three cats, two dogs, and one goat in our bus. (And used to have one rabbit but he wasn't having fun so he lives with my parents now.) We made sure to put in air conditioner for when they need it. The cats are indifferent, and tolerate it way better than riding in a car, which they hated. Now they just chill all the time. One of the dogs doesn't like the sound of the engine while we're moving so she wears a thunder shirt and that helps a lot. The goat loves ridign and looking out the window.

We went to Skooliepalooza and out of 26 buses I would say a good 3/4 or more of them had pets. Most had dog, but there were quite a few cats and some chickens too. Almost all of them were full timers in their buses!

I travel with 3 large dogs, they lay on the couch just like at the house. I have a 16 foot pen that I set up outside the front door so they can go in and out as they please. the pen is cattle panels that store on the pass side of the bus.

I wanted to make a cat window hangout! One day, it'll happen. Perhaps this summer.

I like the cattle panels on the side idea too. Do they not scratch up your paint, though?
