Pretty Sweet Camping Pass

Howdy All --- I occasionally click some of the ads at the bottom of the page here and wanted to share this one. I had totally forgotten about the "America The Beautiful" pass program, but the ad brought it all back. A really good deal for those living the Skoolie Life...especially if you are a..ahem... Senior.

Check it out...see the ad or...

Today is my 53rd birthday. I got my first "senior discount" recently. I tried and tried to get them to charge me full price. They just laughed at me when I insisted "I am not a senior!".

My father explicitly asks for the senior version of basically anything he orders anywhere. I don't know if it helps or just makes him look silly but he is all about the senior discount.

I'm only 45 and I've had the senior price on coffee at Mac Donald's but I'm cheap so didn't fight it...

Don't Blink, It comes quicker than you think. Some parts are not as they are planned, and they throw a wrench into the dream.

OH it's not that bad. I'm down to 99 days and then retirement. I'll be able to hurt everyday working on B.L.U.T.O.

My wife was so stoked to get me my AARP membership when I turned 50 (IIRC that's when you first qualify). I thought it was somewhat less than grandiliquous, myself.

Because eligibility is based upon chronology not behavior....

I love my "America The Beautiful" Pass. It's so much fun to make countless reservations at my favorite camp grounds and then not cancel them until just before I arrive thereby assuring no dead beat campers next to me when I set up at my site.. There are several other mean spirited applications for the card but since I'm old I won't share them--except with Tango when he gets his bus done because he is old too. If you want some practice for using the card, go to "Recreation.Gov". Be forewarned. The site is under constant "redevelopment" and sometimes "Friday the thirteenth" is really Wednesday the eleventh etc. Jack

Thumbs down So much fun

Yeah, sounds like so much fun. Making life a little more difficult for everyone else. I'm old to and I think that's shameful.

I love my America the Beautiful Pass. $7.00 to camp includes a 2nd vehicle at the National Forest Campgrounds I go to, (50% off the $14.00 fee)
