Still scootin, but the smaller machines always belong to friends? They still let me ride them and occasionally RACE them - but not sure these qualify?

Yup, still riding our Aprilia Atlantic. Road it from Furnace Creek to Stovepipe Wells and back last time we were there.
When we stay at Pleasant Valley CG in Bishop I ride into town every day.

I was actually looking into buying a scooter before I got sidetracked by this bus thing. A bus is probably a lot healthier (for myself at least, not for others in my path). I rode a Yamaha 250 around for a year when I lived in Gainesville.

I actually have my Buddy up for sale, with my eye on a small motorcycle since I don't need something Hillary can operate by herself any more.

Added a new "scooter" to the stable. Been thinking about a bicycle and got this. Added the rear seat this morning. 750w front hub, 5 levels ped assist, 16ah battery.

I have a Honda Reflex. Already old, but I would like to buy a new one this year. I don’t know how to choose a new scooter.

Added a 1000w mid drive and 16ah parallel battery. Motors can be run separate or together. 1750w of POWER! 32ah of juice. Hills are fun now.

Thanks for posting this comparison.
My bus build layout is including 7' of garage to house bicycles, inflatable kayaks and scooters. Was planning on 2 Honda Ruckus or Yamaha bws but had also been looking at maybe one Grom for me and one Ruckus for the wife (she does not have a motorcycle licence).
Again thanks for the info.
Cheers

Haha! Remember we’re not supposed to make fun of the dimensionally challenged. Not sure how my fat ass is going to fit on one of those.

Thanks for the info, had never heard of the Monkey.
Just looked it up, nice and compact but not paying that kind of money. Click image for larger version

They are about the same price as a new grom, that price is close to twice what they run

That’s a Canadian retailer new price, the Grom here is $3600 new plus they charge document and shipping fees of about another $1000, big rip off.

Yep I agree that's why I'm thinking I can almost get two Ruckus for that price. Kawasaki has one similar to Grom for about $1000 less, might have to look at those also.

kawi are usually a way better buy.
I've had a couple. Bought a 2002 ninja 250 new for $2400. Bought a low mile 2002 ZRX1200 for $5300. Both were great bikes. I had a lot of fun with them but scooters are much more my style.
I'd rather have two ruckus scoots than one grom. but I'd look for a minty well kept 2 stroke yamaha or honda scoot first.

Well I looked for ruckus, Grom, z125 and Van Van's and demand for all these models and others is so high there's just been no used ones around and he price of new is ridiculous. The wife decided she didn't want her own scooter so I figured no way I'm doubling her on something that small so started looking a little bigger and settled on a KTM Duke. The idea is this will be as a camp bike for tourist trips and runs to town for supplies if needed. Some mod's to suspension and tires to make it a little more dirt road friendly as well.Click image for larger version

Just stumbled on this thread. Oscar, the Duke looks great with those tires! I was considering doing at least that on mine to give it a little bite in the dirt.

I used to have a Yamaha Morphous and a Kymco Xciting 500i. Both were great bikes. With the house remodel going on I had sold them to make room for construction supplies. This was in '15 Been without a bike until this past February. Learned to shift for the first time too and got my Motorcycle license endorsement added to my CDL. Not bad during a covid time! The bike purchase went over easily with my wife since it was "for the bus"!
