Thumbs down Skoolies getting bad mouthed. Was this your white bus?

Most of that large stuff looks local.

It's not just there. You see this kind of thing all over. I'm not saying it's Skoolie's, homeless, or whoever. What it is, is disrespect and disregard for something that's not theirs. It's a lack of proper upbringing and education. It's a lack of common sense. I see it all the time in my line of work, property maintenance. I see more of the the most recent 2 generations as the majority of problem. All the winey, everything should be provided for me, I don't have to do that because it's someone else's responsibility people. It gets rather frustrating at times.

Its totally possible, and common, to be homeless in a used school bus. Big difference between living in a bus and being homeless in one.

My parents just bought a different home in Kentucky and my mom especially has been frustrated with the amount of trash she keeps digging up in the yard. She doesn't understand why people would trash their own property but I tried to explain to her that much of it is cultural for that region. One only need take a drive around to see houses that in another region would be condemned surrounded by what is likely generations of junk collecting around the property. As long as they have four-wheelers and a new gun they don't really value anything else. And that's their own property. One only need look at how renters treat rental properties to understand how little they are going to treat public properties like BLM or campgrounds.

I hate to see people littering the wilderness (well, something close) as well, but I'm failing to see the distinction between 'nomads' and short-term campers. And I'm sure whoever abandoned that bus - assuming it was actually abandoned (they're probably 10 miles down the road walking to find a diesel shop) - didn't discard it like trash just because that's how they roll. Probably more like the end of a very long rope. Holmes needs to lighten up a bit & stop stereotyping. Plenty of big-$ weekend warriors that trash campsites like it's their job.

Oh, & those dead-wood lean-tos were kind of cool.

A bus with a wide open door and no sign saying “we broke down. Will be back soon!” To me says it’s abandoned. People who are at the end of their rope should consider lightening their load rather than getting a bus. I see it over and over in the Bay Area. People get their mobile housing, but they don’t or won’t Or cant take the responsibility that comes with it!

There are too many homeless that make hobos look bad.

sadly the way a LOT of naive, idealistic folks start out their "skoolie" life can lead to abandoned buses and crap laying around.

Oh! oh! Litterbugs, regardless of housing or financial status are total scum. Same with those that think they “own it” because it’s public and so they are allowed to F it up!

If I broke down in the middle of the woods, the last thing I'd do is leave my bus with a sign saying "I'm not here, please steal all my stuff". Maybe they already had been broken into walking for help? Maybe the air system just bled down.

Maybe they hadn't met rope's end until their engine unexpectedly died? Seems to be a common theme on this forum. Do we label everyone who has mechanical problems a ne'er-do-well? Is having a mechanical failure a character flaw?

Lots of assumptions being made based on scant evidence. IMO the least likely explanation is the occupants deciding to abandon a bus & their belongings just for the helluvit. If I was the dude making the video I'd be looking for bodies instead of scouting for trash, but we all have our priorities.

Yeah, litterbugs piss me off enough to go on a rant. Makes me grumpy.

Jim hit it on the head. As an OTR semi driver, I have found it difficult to find parking when the truck stops are full because of boneheads like this.

You know how I know that bus hasn't been there long?

Not a single bullet hole in it yet.

You missed the smashed drivers windshield and right hand passenger window sixth from the rear. We all tend to see what we want to see.

you should have a wallet full of $100.00 bills if you are going to go anywhere on your bus without a road service plan.

We need a bumper sticker to differentiate between us and the irresponsible.
