1997 international Multi function Switch upgrade question

For safety I am wanting to upgrade my old turn signal switch that only controls turn signals, hazard and high beams to one that will have the above plus windshield wiper functions maybe even a bonus if I can get intermittent wipers also.
headlights would be nice but I don't see a switch that has all of them.

Has anyone else rewired the wipers to a multi function switch. Other than running wires and needing a new base/switch lever is there anything else that would need to be done that is not obvious?

Also on newer buses is the intermittent circuity in the column switch or is there some other part/controller that needs to be pulled if I find one in a junkyard?

What years would be compatible if anyone would happen to know.

Thanks
Michael

the modern busses with true multifunction switches are using a multiplex type system.. school bus wiper switches have a lot of wires going to them.. im not sure if theres a non multiplex switch made that does wipers or not..

in a multiplex system the computer recognizes various resistance values coming from the switch device as a whole and knows the combinations and values to know what gets turned on... its not a simple switch going to a device like your 1997 is...
