1999 Bluebird rear engine mystery wire

Hi all! I was ripping out the rear heater in by bus an noticed a single green wire running from the front panel to the engine bay where I can no longer see it. It was run with the heater fan wires. The panel of course will not give up it's secrets to me. Does anyone know what this might be?

In a perfect world that would be a ground wire/bond. Can you access either end and check it with a meter?

agree

likely to reduce electrical differential through the cooling system. and that reduces corrosion. I have also seen conditions where the cooling system builds up a charge and that interfered with electronic engine control systems.

green is common color in the usa to indicate ground

Why didn't I think of that? Just checked, I have continuity between the chassis and that wire.
