For our 2002 there are 5 nuts holding the trim on, 2 on top, 2 on bottom, one on the outer edge. 7/16". I could access from the wiper doors and from the ground.
I also took off the front center section with 4 screws, but I'm not sure if that was necessary or not.

It was hard to tell exactly what was was back there, lots of rivnuts and what not. It's all plastic, 21 year old plastic for me.
