24v inverter for my Bus?

I have been looking all over for a 24v to 120v inverter, Amazon has a limited selection and a lot of mixed reviews I am looking for a reliable brand with 1500-2000w of power.... Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Try looking at Magnum Energy or Xantrex inverters. They have 12, 24 and 48VDC inverters.

I looked at xantrex and the lowest price 24v is 900$ and that's 60% of what I paid for everything

Yeah, quality inverters have a high price tag. Personally, a Xantrex product is the "lowest" quality I'd go.

Keep an eye on eBay and auctions; sometimes you can get lucky and find a good high-quality 24VDC inverter salvaged from a high-end motorcoach.

The same junk yard you might go to pick up a second hand awning should also have the electronics you need.

I bought a refurbished Magnum MS2000 inverter/charger from Wholesale Solar in northern CA for $1000, little more than half the normal price. They may still have some other refurb Magnums, maybe? Magnum are made in USA, are completely serviceable (even mostly field-serviceable), and should be the last inverter you'll ever need. Don't waste your money on cheapo stuff - sooner or later you'll end up buying real quality anyway after the other one(s) have failed, so just buy a good 'un from the start! At the least, thoroughly research what others have experienced with whatever you plan on buying - there's plenty of informative YouTube clips on the good, the bad and the ugly. Some brands like Power Jack and AIMS need to be researched very carefully!

its been fantaastic in the dev bus.. ive used it in hiot / cold, run it to its maxx for long periods of time.. I measured its output with a scope and its real nice sine wave..

I have the 24V Wagan 3744-4 ProLine 5000W. I haven't used it a lot since recent installation but it seems to work just fine. I purchased it from DonRowe.com for $470 and free shipping. I suspect they have one in the 2000W range but didn't actually look.

Depending on where you mount it, my only suggestion is to watch out for the ones with a noisy fan that runs all the time. That can get really annoying if within earshot.

Edit: Oh also... if planning automatic switching, be sure to consider the price of an Inverter with an internal transfer switch vs an external switch. And, of course, one with a remote on/off switch.

I'm with cadillackid. I also have the 12v version of the Magnum MM1524AE. It is rock solid. Inverters are expensive though. You get what you pay for.

So I found a almost new referb Xantrex PROSine 1800 24v for 410$ shipped or should I save up for a magnum or just use this till I can afford one?

I've heard good things about Xantrex actually. Just expect that under normal circumstances its not going to last as long as a Magnum equivalent. Look at the idle amp draw as well because that should factor into your decision. My Magnum pulls like 1/3 an amp with no load. And as already said check your model for reviews of excess noise unless you expect to mount it out of the way. That's what I did with mine. $410 isn't a bad price.

I have 945w pv 40a mppt and 6, 12v 145ah agm batteries. I think I paid 1600$ for everything including the xantrex inverter now I just need to install
