87 thomas electrical issues

Would anyone, anyone at alllll have the wiring diagram for an 87 thomas 8.2L?

Its impossible to find. I keep blowing fuses i just want to rip out all the wires (yes, as aggressive as i can) and redo them.

Don’t do it. You have a short to ground. It might not even be the wires. It could be a light fixture and something like that.

Do you know what the fuses are for? Are there labels on them?

I've checked the lights, the guy we bought the bus from removed some wires out and disconnected things. Theres a wire thats not labeled and i cant trace it to anything im trying to find out where it goes. The fuses are labeled. All the light fuses keep blowing, i think there is a ground somewhere, but its almost impossible to tell where cause its all a mess.

All the lights? Front, rear, inside?

Do you have a multimeter?

Use the continuity setting to find out what is shorting. Thomas runs ground wires, at least mine does, but the body is also a ground.

With everything off, you don’t even need the battery hooked up, but you need good fuses, go to each light socket and check continuity between the center contact (positive) and the outer shell (negative). If it sings you have a short. Do them all. After that at least you’ll have an idea of what circuits.

on my 86 the light mounting screws are the grounds and especially the outside lights the housings and screws and screw holes were rusty which caused light issues but not fuse blowing issues.
i pulled, cleaned, painted all the light bases, replaced the bad mounts with new ones sourced from GROTE. plastic based ones through almost any parts store if you ask them to pull there lighting book out from under there computer and use a little bigger than original mounting screw to cut new threads into metal that cuts the rust out of the mounting screw hole unless the rust is real bad.
many choices other than cutting everything out and starting over.
my thomas has an electrical busway on each side just above the windows all the way to the back for the body wiring

some pics of the fuse locations would help.
does your bus start and run and its a chassis issue for lighting?
you said the previous owner cut stuff out?
try to find every lose end wire and cap it with either a wire nut or some electrical tape to isolate the ends from anything metal .
at your point and with your issue i would definitly disconect the batteries when your not there

Have you tried to contact Thomas Daimler for wiring diagrams?
