I found this ad on Craigslist:

http://austin.craigslist.org/rvs/1501781379.html
optima group 31 batteries.retails for 249.00 each at summit racing. get em while they last for 100.00 each

What do y'all think?

Re: Are these batteries any good?

They aren't bad, but Optimas are not what they used to be. They also will only be about 75 amp hours versus 100 or more in a wet cell. But...you can mount them anywhere you want in your bus without fear of gassing and the rule is that they can't be charged upside down (they can be discharged though).

optimas, even the blue, are not deep cycle. they are a compromise. also a lot of my friends have had trouble with their warranty.

Re: Are these batteries any good?

Thanks guys, I think I will pass. It would have been a long drive to get them anyway, so as it seems to be less than an amazing deal, it's not worth it to me.

Look at the mfg dates on each battery before you buy...
