Battle Born vs ??

Pricing out different LiFePO4 battery options, and would love to hear opinions on alternatives to Battle Born.
  • 1.2-1.6kWh
  • New; don't want to mess around with used
  • Not willing to roll the dice on reliability
  • Would love to have something more compact that traditional 'car-battery' size

BigBattery seems to have some interesting alternatives in terms of more kWh per $ and per sqft, but they don't seem to be as ubiquitous as Battle Born in the skoolie space.

Thoughts?

I've seen one or two tear-downs of Battleborn batteries where you can see they're manufactured with quality in mind and using suitably-sized components / wiring. They also offer a 10-year warranty from one of the few companies that's been around long enough to instill confidence they'll still be around if you ever need to use it. There's nothing necessarily special or overwhelming about their batteries to my knowledge - they're drop-ins with similiar advertised performance to other lesser-known brands - but they appear to be a known quantity with a significant history from a U.S. based company that from what I can tell stands behind their products. For the price of lithium, I personally consider such factors justification for a higher initial price tag compared to competing brands where if it fails you may be SOL.

Anyone have any experience with EG4 server rack batteries?

https://signaturesolar.com/eg4-lifep...ery-24v-200ah/

Saw a review (), and they look well built, but there's a difference between installing a battery in a rack in your basement, and bolting it into a compartment in an old bus.

Significant savings vs Battle Born, both in $$$ and sqft. Unless someone talks me out if it, they may be what ends up powering our bus.

Opinions?

i have a home made battery that kicks ass and takes names but, i wouldnt reccomend making one yourself.

i have a friend with the Ampere Time brand off of Amazon and they like them. they have a 200 AH thats been in service for a year, and now, adding a second 200AH, for their power.

lightweight, seems well made, 1 repeat customer at least.

i'd spend my next battery money on one.

I am impressed with the EG4/LifePower batteries and they have really good reviews from some folks I find to be reasonable. If they had a 12V version available now, I'd definitely give them a try.

Chuck Cassidy had an interesting take on battle born vs big battery.

https://youtu.be/mVwlwKQND5k

His thing about social media influencers and pricing makes sense. I've done some looking at big battery and their pricing seems much better. 10 year warranty.

Some controversy with another youtube reviewer that I haven't looked at much yet but I guess any company can have a quality control issue??

I'm still planning my build but as of right now am leaning towards big battery.
