BMS's connected in parallel?

I'm having trouble locating BMS's of 300+ amps capacity. I'd like to charge a 280Ah 48v battery. It looks like I need to have two 150A+ BMS's running in parallel? Or three of 100A ?

Am I wrong altogether? Does anyone know of a BMS specifically ok with this?

The BMS size is the capacity in amps it can allow to flow. a 250 A BMS can handle 250 Amps continuously.

Your BMS needs as many leads as you have cells (4S for 4 cells, 8S for 8 cells etc.); the BMS size is dependent on how many amps you will draw at peak.

Actually N+1

So 8S pack BMS has 9 balance leads, plus the power pair(s)

Just keep you charge & discharge rates well below the max rating and you'll be fine

nothing to do with the Ah capacity of the bank.

Paralleling BMS is fraught, unless a proven trusted electrickery wizard who has done it with that specific model is guiding you, best to avoid.

A good BMS with high power rating can cost hundreds. Cheap ones, keep your eye on them, they can murder a bank just as much as protect one.
