Question Brake lights and how they are wired on 1997 Thomas/International

Ok, so I have a Thomas/International 1997 with air brakes, and the brake lights do not light up when the pedal is depressed. My question is where do the brake lights get the 12 volts from in other words where is the switch that sends the voltage back to the lights? I have looked and see two things that may be switches on the side of the air valve in the cab that the brake pedal connects to, does anyone know if that is where the brake lights get actuated from, or is it elsewhere? FYI the electrical schematics only show to the firewall.

My Ford/Thomas with a tilt hood had a big eighteen wire plug in. I pulled it apart and the rust had destroyed it.

Ok thanks, I will check that this weekend, I believe that plug is on the firewall correct?

Mine was down on the left side. You will find it easily.
