Cruise Control

Hi I have a 1999 AM3800 with D444e.
My cruise control is not working. Not sure if it was disabled when put into service or if there is another issue. does anyone have any experience with troubleshooting the cruise control?

Most often the cruise control was disabled at the factory.. i have seen many of these ordered by the schools with the cruise disabled.. thre cruise control switches on the 444E also can act as an engine High idle system..



Brake pedal switch faults will disable the cruise as well as the high idle..



a good test is to start the bus(park brake set and in neutral) turn the cruise switch on (switch is down for on).. hold the other switch in Accel for a second or 2, if the engine speeds up then the brake pedal switches are good and cruise just needs enabled in the ECM..

Sounds like you just need to turn it on in the software
