Deka GC15 6V battery

Has anybody had any experience with these?

It seems like Lowe's, where i work, has the cheapest price on them anywhere, and i can get them for about $130. Unless I've been looking in the wrong places, and please correct me if I'm wrong, it seems like going with pairs of 6V batteries you can get more ah than with the 12v, at a better price. I was thinking about starting with 2 of these to get my electrical up and going, then add 2 more later (spreading out the cost), and leave room for additional 2 if i need them. Pretty sure these will have to go under the bus, so ill have to figure out how to build a battery box and tray.

So the reason we use 6V batteries and not 12V is simply the physical constraints.

A high amp-hour 6V battery weighs roughly the same as a 12V deep-cycle battery, so for 12V (with two) there is almost twice as much of the active components. If a single battery were built that way it would come in around 150 lbs.

I can't find them for that price, I'd buy some.

The reviews aren't awful, and most I'm finding are in the 180-200 dollar range

They are $144 at Lowe's here. I am guessing that the OP gets a 10% employee discount.

That's correct. I was originally thinking going with sealed batteries and put them inside, but man they are not cheap. I think these ones won't last me as long as a really nice one, but they as long as they do the job a few years I'll be happy with that price

Duracell Ultra SLIGC115 (230AH) is the same exact batt.
