Arrow Flashers work but not left turn signal nor left indicator light

This seems to me like it must be a bad connection or ground - but I'm hoping someone would have an idea where to begin as the symptoms seem a little weird.

I have a '95 Ford B Series. All lights flash when the flashers are on so I assume the lightbulbs and connections are good - but the left turn signal indicator doesn't work. The right turn signal works but not the left - so I assume it's not the flasher itself.

Those *were* the symptoms but suddenly as I was testing it, the left turn signal and indicator started working. So the indicator light bulb itself isn't bad.

It was hard for me to isolate the problem in the first place and then it went and fixed itself. I'm sure it will fail again as I'm cruising down the highway and I want to fix it once and for all.

I know I'm probably going to have to just get my hands dirty on this one - but any suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks - Jon

Best guess is the turn signal switch itself. Fits all the criteria I think.

I’d spend the 50 bucks on a flasher to find out before I’d dig into the steering column

Thanks - normally sounds like good advice but I already planed to pull the steering wheel anyway. It is off center when going strait and it irritates me. I do have a puller so not a big deal.
