Fuel gauge not working 2000 Bluebird TC1000

New to the forums & hoping to get some help (pretty pls). I have a 2000 Bluebird model TC1000 and the fuel gauge doesn't work. It's always been that way since I took possession of the bus, but it's not been an issue bc I've always done short trips & just re-fuelled. Now I'm considering a longer trip/s and am wanting to try and fix this issue. Any pointers on where to start or simple things to try first ... would be much obliged

Pete

first....

so find the place at the top of the fuel tank where the level sending unit is wired..... I kind of expect you to find two wires... one a grounding wire and the second goes to the float level.

you will need another set of eyes for this...... key on, engine off.

second person watching fuel gage.

take the non grounding wire and touch for just a moment to ground... gage should move... do not hold the wire to ground for more than a moment.

If gage does not move then possible gage is the problem.

what does your dash look like? my 1994 tc2000 instrument cluster is a part from chevrolet ... So testing the dash it self would follow chevrolet test procedures.

Same Issue on 1988 Ford B600

I just took possession of a 1988 Ford B600 Bus which has the same issue. Would this test work across the board?
