Headlight question

05 International, Thomas body.
Can anyone tell me if this bus would have split circuits for left and right headlamps. Changed a bulb on my daughter's bus last nite and it's still not working, and have not yet, had a chance to check fuses.

Not likely, but possible. Most older vehicles have direct wiring to either a floor-mounted dimmer switch or multifunction on the column. Sounds like a bad wire (likely ground) at the harness if it's only affecting one.

If this is indeed an exception to the rule, most newer vehicles complete their circuits by grounding them with an electrical control unit box.

EDIT: Navistar is known for bad pigtail harnesses on headlight wiring. I remember this because ProStars I drove were known for it. These are the last, say, 2-3 feet to the bulb.

Thanks Cheese_wagon. Looked at it tonite and could not find any fuses or breakers for headlites. No power to left high beam and the bulb that we changed was definately burned out. Doesn't appear to be a manual in the bus to study either to help me find a fuse or breaker. Guess they keep them at the shop. Was trying to help her out so she wouldn't have to make the one hour round trip to the shop. Oh well, I guess grandpa gets to watch the girls again tomorrow so she can take it in.

Lots of newer Navistar products put the fuse block and breakers on the passenger side dashboard. Not sure if they are moved by coachwork manufacturers.
