Help! I can't find the lights I need anywhere

Hi! I am trying to replace my amber lights on my 2001 Amtran International, they are Trucklite brand and product number 12004y, we called the atrucklite company and they refused to sell to us because we aren't a company and they told us to call Napa.

We called Napa and they said they could order it for us, but then said there was no where online that sells it.

Then we found a website that sells them but again we need to be working with a company to buy them.

We thought we found them on Amazon, but turns out they are 12001y and not 12004y.

We are at a complete loss right now, should we buy a different kind and rewire them to work? Does anyone know where we can buy the 12004y lights? Any help would be great!

Unless you absolutely want to stay stock there's no reason to stick with the stock lights. Those lights on my bus are not in great shape so I'm going to replace them. I note the one you pictured is a 2 wire design which means a hot and a ground wire, mine are a single wire which means they ground to the body via the attaching screws.

In my case I'm going to try LED bullet lights. The ones I ordered, from Amazon, are 2 wire so I'll have to provide a ground. I'll probably just put a screw into the nearest rib for the ground wire to attach to. The holes in the body of my bus were too small for the bullet lights I bought so I'll just drill them out with a Unibit, easy-peasy.

I don't like the aesthetics of the stock lights so it was an easy decision for me. Other folks have gone other routes to replace the stock marker lights, the choices are endless.

Just went through this with our 1996 AmTran and found both styles of our lights so very happy.
Is your bracket plastic or metal?

These say they're a 12003A but sure look like your pic.

I've used TAC for my lights and lens that needed replaced. Not everything is in stock but it is worth a look. I also got my windshield wiper hardware from them. All were delivered quickly with no hassle. So far I've really enjoyed dealing with them.

If you haven't found them by now, you might want to give Fleetpride a try. They sell to the public and so far I've found some hard to find 1998 Thomas items through them. I lucked out and have a store near me that I can go in to and browse but they sell online too.

@SarahEllie,

Those marker lights apparently (meaning I just looked at them online and this is what I can tell from their descriptions) come as either an assembly, or individual parts. Basically they're a mounting bracket, lense assembly, & gasket. So if you just need to change out the lense but the mounting bracket is fine, looks like you can change it out alone, perhaps in combination with a new gasket. Also looks like they have lense assemblies that are LED as well as incandescent, so if you wanted to upgrade, I think you could buy just the LED lense and snap it in to your existing base (confirm this, though).

Anyway, here's a link to the Trucklite site detailing their rectangular marker lights, '12 series' lenses & other parts (which appear to be what you have), etc. You'll see there are multiple versions of your markers here, and clicking on the details for the assembly often brings up the parts that go into it. Looks like a lot of time the part number differs only over something trivial. For example, a 12004 vs a 12003 is the mounting bracket color and maybe wire terminations.

Then hit up the bus parts suppliers others have listed above.

Pictures of Tucson Bone Yard buses. Most are Thomas pushers, a total of 29 in the yard now. More coming with recent purchase of new Blue Bird conventionals. Undersides are very clean,, no rust whatsoever.

NAPA has a pretty decent selection of standard incandescent lights for trucks. IDK if they also have LED's.
