How to use step down: 24V to 12V

Ok.
A.
1. How do you actually use these?

2. Are they programmable?

3. Do they need fused separately? How to physically wire it in (what connects to what?)

B.
1. How to use step down to charge starter batteries off 24V house batteries/solar system?

2. Do I use a 2nd charge controller?

3. Or can I program max charging voltage on the step down itself? They all look like simple things with no buttons or functionality for programming charge voltages

Search is your friend. Use the search box up in the upper right of the forum page. Start with '24 Volt' as a search term. It brings you directly to a fantastic discussion including details by one of our best contributors.

I truly wish the search function actually worked well. I type in "24V step down" and nothing useful or related comes up. Search says "words too common or long were removed (24V and down)", so it only searches for "step". What the hell? Search function doesn't work as well as everyone says. Am I searching wrong? I try different word combos too.

Agreed you will not get results with overly complex search terms.

I literally typed '24 volt'.
