Interlock issue 2001 Thomas dognose

Hey guys. First time post here. I have Read most the info on this issue. (Tons of posts about it). Most people and videos show a control panel on the side of the bus accessed by a door (I don't have that door on the side). I have a dog nose 2001 thomas freightliner. I have figured out the window and buzzer circuit but can't find the relay and interlock device to bypass. Do I need to disassemble the dash to find the control panel and vandalock/intetlock soliniod?

I ended up finding it behind the control panel switches left of the driver seat. In my bus, there are 2 switch panels hold various controls for stereo, fans, heat, klam, ect.... . The one closest to the steering wheel was where i found it. Couple screws, pull the panel out and its behind that. It is pretty tight in there but it is there.

hello, I have a 2013 Thomas dog nose. I removed the roof top hatch yesterday. I had to tape the tiny red button in the pushed in position to stop the alarm. My roof top hatch also had a keyed lock on it, which had a wire going to it. I cut that wire. After all of this, the bus started but ran rough. I turned it off, checked all of the fluid levels, and tried to restart it but the dash and everything was completely dead and the alarm was sounding again. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!?

Interlock issue 2001 Thomas dognose

On another thread it’s is explained how to bypass the interlock on a Thomas HDX (pusher). All Thomas busses made after 2001ish have these relays and panels.

You have a start relay somewhere on your bus that can be jumped. Usually there is a diagram on the fuse panel on the cover. Sometimes there are 2-3 start relays. You just need to find the “one”.

Good luck

Oh. There may be several of these panels in different locations. I believe the OP couldn’t find his other panel at first.

The relay for mine (2001 FS-65 dognose) was the up and slightly to the left of the brake pedal.

The yellow wire needed to be connected to the one of the purple ones for the vehicle to start.
