Is $1.16 per Watt good for panels...

...that you pickup yourself from a location close to you. It's a 15 minute drive I make frequently anyway.

Roughly 20% efficiency diode protected panels rated 330W guaranteed to have 80% of their power rating in 20 years.

Qty 10 for the $1.16 / W uninstalled panel price.

I paid $0.30/watt used from a local recycler.

I thank you for your answer...

There was no warranty of any sort with reclaimed panels, correct? You were able to get matching sets that way?

SanTan Solar's 250W used panels, which do have some warranty, are .22 per Watt. Granted, I'm fortunate enough to live in the same state...so I can drive there and pick up the pallets as I need them. They're quality panels.

Even with shipping they seem competitive...
And I'm in Virginia.

I not merely appreciate the steer towrds Santan Solar...

...in fact, I just pulled the trigger on nominally 5.2kwH of panels from SanTan solar.

I aim to mount them on the sides of my bus in a tilt up installation where they should produce shaded areas reducing solar gain when cooling demand predominates.

Wood heat will be used when solar gain would otherwise be desired, as with winter heating. I have 8.6ac to cut firewood from...

...unless of course I merely decamp to a latitude where I do not care about heating...
