Is it OK for an electrical cabinet to be uninsulated?

I'm not sure yet where I'm going to put my electrical gear (AC/DC transformer, fuses etc.) in the bus and I don't necessarily have a real good spot for it. I have an insulated bulkhead wall 2' behind my driver's seat and I could easily put the electrical stuff on the cab side of the wall, but this means it would be outside of my insulated and heated living space, so it could get very cold in the winter (in summer it shouldn't really get much hotter than the living space since I won't have AC anyway). Is this OK?

Up to a certain point colder is better, you'll never reach that point. I would be more concerned with heat. You may have to put some sort of temp controlled fan to cool the compartment in the summer.

Mine is all within the bus. Some is mounted on an open wall; other pieces are under the bed. I didn't want any electrical components outside due to condensation risk.

No a/c needed. For you cab, I'd use a nema 3 or better. Indoor/outdoor. No blown dust or ice protection. But better for the cab that nema1.

Many house garages are not insulated & a popular location for an electric panel. Mobile home panels are mounted outside, on a pole.
