Mounting driver side switches

Eventually I plan on rebuilding the whole side panel where these switches mount and I'd love suggestions on what to do when we get to that step but for now I'm looking for advice on how to mount a couple of these new switches into this existing area. I thought about using the old switches but I'd rather replace what's been pulled for easy recognition.Click image for larger version

Drill a 1/2 hole in the blank cover and mount it conventionally with a backing nut and a internal tooth star washer and the nut on top and snap the whole assembly into the switch console. Procure more blank covers for the switches that you are removing. A drop of Loctite on the switch threads will prevent it from loosening up in the future.

I've been over thinking this so much that when you explain it like that it seem so simple. Thank you very much for your help.
