My van was hotwired

Hi,

I purchased a 2003 Ford E-450 7.3 L V8 Diesel from an auction. The wiring was cut and looks to be a Hotwire attempt. Only one bundle of wires was cut which makes it seem deliberate. Through a bit of research I think this is the ignition - battery wire. And after reading wiring schematics I am lost for figuring out the exact part or pigtail kit to be used to fix this cut wiring. My question is can anybody mention what exact wire would be cut for the Hotwire and where can I find a pigtail kit or complete harness to replace it and try to start the vehicle. I spoke to a mechanic and he mentioned the van most likely wouldn’t start until the wire is fixed.

Take some pictures.

Go to the local Ford dealer parts department.

Show them the pictures and ask them how they can help.

You might also talk to one of the service managers and see if one of their mechanics could give you a tip.

If they can't/won't help, find the biggest parts nerd at Napa and see what they say. There's this guy at my Napa that looks like a blob from a sci-fi movie (really nice guy) and man does he know his parts!

Also, post the pictures you take here so others can see what's going on. Remember, a pictures worth 1,000 words....and you only wrote like 100. Ha!
