Happy motoring and solaring.
I like to have multiple energy sources to keep my batteries up even if solar is primary. Anytime I hear anyone say they will use one charging source I skeptically think “good luck with that”. There are all solar campers however. And all generator campers. My friend is new to full timing and lasted about 2 months with a generator before rushing out to get solar panels. He uses his generator much less now and only has 2 of his 6 panels hooked up so far. I sold my big 7000 watt generator and bought solar panels. Later I bought a Yamaha “suitcase” generator which I sold and bought a Honda suitcase generator. The new Honda has 1800 watt vs 1600 watt for the Yamaha. I found the extra 200 watts to be useful sometimes. But I use it only about 4 times per year on average. I don’t need A/C or other big loads very much so that’s a factor. If it gets that hot I make plans to leave. That’s why I have wheels.

These guys will stuff your brain full of knowledge, if you don't hold them at bay with a pointed stick or a sharp rock.

Back to the drawing board for me, with research more along the lines of "everything in 12V if possible, 1-1.5K genny, 500W solar bank" thinking.....

I'll be back.

If you hunt around for good deals solar doesn't have to be that expensive.

As an example, if you are anywheren near AZ you could get 2x250W solar panels, and a decent budget MPPT controller for $250

Or a premium Victron controller and a 400W high quality panel for $410

Or an entry level 250W kit for $165

If you don't live close by shipping would add a good bit to the total cost, but there are probably similar deals in your area.
