Please Help: Bus Will No Longer Start

Hey guys,

So....Im a dope and we were "renovating" the switch panel. After reassembly, the bus will no longer start. When I turn the key into accessory, the power is working (lights, wipers, etc...). When I turn the key to start the bus, everything shuts off and I have to disconnect the battery and reconnect to gain power again.

A few questions:

1. Any idea how to troubleshoot?
2. Anyone have the wiring diagram for this bus (or one like it) (or have similar bus to send me photos of the wires to connect the switches again)?

Bus Info:
1999 Bluebird TC RE 3904

Thank you so much for any suggestions.

Brandon

ya know my yard dog truck did that when the batt connections where not right , try cleaning everything and making sure its all tight , and a 100% connection is there before you fire

Second this

Just replaced the alternator on my truck.. went to start it, exact conditions you described. I had forgot to tighten my neg terminal cable. It was snug but not tight.

For sure the "lost power and it won't come back if I don't disconnect the battery and connect it again" symptom is usually a bad connection. Tighten all the things!

Hey guys,

Thanks so much for the responses. After freaking out way more than necessary, testing every freakin wire/solenoid/relay, etc... in the bus, my buddy Denver and I tried exactly what you guys are describing and got it started.

Turns out that I just didn't tighten the battery cable well enough after disconnecting it.

Seriously, thank you all so much for the input! Love the skoolie community.

Cheers!

Don't feel bad because we have obviously had first hand experience with that same mistake!
