Plugging shore power to engine batteries

Is there a safe way to wire shore power into the engine batteries?

Get a suitable voltage battery charger (12V usually) and plug that into your shore power connection or panel. Easy, peasy. You can remove the alligator clips off the ends of the battery charger cables and crimp on ring terminals, if you want to make a permanent installation.
