Close the loop, but prevent reverse current, why would that ever happen in a DC circuit?

So 2 fused wires, CH4-4 and the other. Those are likely to be co-ordinates on the electrical drawing that shows the device each one feeds; actually is an easy system once you get familiar. they do this method due to the difficulty in making drawings with page size restraints.
Just read the drawing like a map, 4 across and 04 down. etc.
Not sure on the second question as stated but does this have to do with the fuel solenoid at all? They have 2 coils that work at different currents so might be how the power is split there. to do that.
