Reading diagrams and a curious diode plug

Hi all,

Started on removing all the unneeded wiring. I have the electrical plans for my bus and have figured out how to read them (mostly), one thing I can't figure out is what for example the CH4_04 means. What does it reference. I'm guessing that most plans follow the same conventions.

All thoughts on what it might reference are appreciated. Second question, found some plugs capped with an other plug that just seem to contain a diode bridging the two legs (onlly found them on two pin connectors). What is the point of this. Close the loop, but prevent reverse current, why would that ever happen in a DC circuit?

TX!

I just see the word diode and remember spending days trying to figure out my wipers. There was a diode in the back of the switch that went bad.

It would appear to either reference another diagram, or a connector possibly with pin number for the wire. Do you have more of the diagram?

So 2 fused wires, CH4-4 and the other. Those are likely to be co-ordinates on the electrical drawing that shows the device each one feeds; actually is an easy system once you get familiar. they do this method due to the difficulty in making drawings with page size restraints.
Just read the drawing like a map, 4 across and 04 down. etc.

Not sure on the second question as stated but does this have to do with the fuel solenoid at all? They have 2 coils that work at different currents so might be how the power is split there. to do that.

Hi,

An example of the of the diode "thingie" is below.

If I pull the two screws holding the thing together, there is just a single diode in there.

if those are connected to relays controlling inductive loads like heater motors, webasto heaters, etc then they would likely be Snubber diodes to prevent destruction of the relay.. not enough into in that pic to tell really..
