We are setting up a 50a shore power setup. But I want to have the option to use some of the a/c options if we are off the grid. I know I won’t be using the air conditioner off the batteries.

Appliances that heat are also taxing on the battery bank. It sounds like you should just run one leg of shore power to a separate box or separate side of you main box and run anything non battery from there. That is what I am looking into.

I’ve run my rooftop a/c to its own separate box with a 20 amp breaker. It has a separate 20 amp marine inlet out the back of the bus where the generator will be.
