I honestly can’t believe I just read this whole thread, but I’d like to thank you, Rwnielsen, for your helpful comments and advice, and I like reading them.

I also think Cheap Trick is incredibly underrated. [emoji2]

240 v

As you stated you did some research. However all RV parks or camp sites have 30 amp or 50 amp 115volts . So finding a place other then your home base or wherever you have made provisions to have the 240 volts available your just not going to find it out there

I don't know, what am I reading wrong? Seems like 50 amp plugs are supposed to have 120/240 split phase.

You're correct, a standard 50 amp RV receptacle is a straight blade, NEMA 14-50. Split phase, 240 volt, 50 amp with a neutral.

I've read up on all-in-one solar inverter/chargers, and higher voltage battery banks and 240 volt electrical systems are more efficient, produce higher power, and use smaller wires.

With many of these systems, if you want 240 volts, you just run two of them parallel.

So my question is: What if you're only getting 120 volt shore power, as in most campgrounds and RV hook ups (that I've seen)?

Does it work? Does the system compensate? Does one run two 120 volt shore power plugs?
No the RV park and campgrounds system doesn’t support 240 volt systems . You will only find 120 volts at these parks . And to be honest most things you will install in your schoolies will be 120 v

You're wrong there bud.

If it's a NEMA 14-50 outlet, which is your standard 50 amp camper plug, you should have 240vac split phase electric at that outlet.

This isn't my picture, but it shows what you have available at each plug, and how it is wired.

If you only have 120v available , the outlet is wired up incorrectly.

The is rapidly degrading into a Facebook type discussion.. Booyah is 100% correct. People that don't understand electricity really don't understand electricity and yet...
