Solar - electrician needed - Indianapolis area

I have purchased a skoolie with solar panels but all the solar serves are 12v items - I want to get at least one or two 110v plugs to work off my solar. Any suggestions of what to read or research. I am a complete novice but wiling to take instruction as long as you dont shout! Thanks. Andy Crawford

Is there already a battery bank? You would need batteries and an inverter. How large of a battery bank and inverter would be dependent on how many watts you want to pull.

I've not determined how to do this myself yet, so take it for what it's worth, but my plan is very similar. I plan to have all 12v appliances, but realize I may need some 110V stuff. I've not looked yet, but I was thinking of getting a small inverter for point-of-use if I find a need. Just plug into a 12v outlet and off I go.

That said, I plan to wire 110V throughout for when on shore power.

At least as of now that's what I'm thinking - I'm still a ways away from power!

Chris

Consider the demands of the 12 volt cable leading to your inverter if it is anything but a quite small one.

Hi Andy! There are oodles of good places to start. Here is mine: http://jdfinley.com/is-solar-power-for-you/

Getting a handle on all the new terms and what each of those devices do (in general) is the place to start.
