Stop Sign Wiring

Hello all,

The first thing I did when I got my bus home was to take off the swing out stop sign. Not knowing what to do with the wires, I just left them to hang til I could figure out what to do.

What did you do?

at the very least put a wire nut on the end if there is any exposed wires. don't want to short something!

I disconnected them from the sign and behind the panel and taped the ends - so there was no power running to them. I left the wires - but for no real reason, except maybe in the future I will want to power something out there.

I found when disconnecting anything - it was best to find the source of the wire and label it - then disconnect it. It took little time, but it made things easier in the long run.

I just cut my stop signs off today, but I'm wondering if the wires are part of the starter interlock system and now my bus won't start. It currently is not starting anyway because the battery is run down, so I can't simply test if it's working.

Weirdly, I've read a lot of accounts of how difficult these stop signs are to remove, but other than having to zip-wheel the screw heads off it was EZPZ (maybe that's what people meant). I had been planning to keep the mechanisms in place and mount big smiley faces instead, but I finally realized there's too much else to do to be mucking about with useless stuff like that.
