turn signals work with ignition off

I discovered that my turn signals work even when the ignition switch is off. Is that normal? I've never seen a vehicle that would do this.

My 2004 Thomas built bus also works that way. First vehicle I've driven wired like that. The cigarette lighter. (12 volt outlet) to the driver's left is also wired on the hot side of the ignition. I have to remember to have nothing plugged into it when I park the bus overnight, to not run down the starter batteries.

my 1990 IH 3800 cdoes as well as my 1978 Loadstar.. the signals run with the keys off.
