Type and number of batteries

Just curious what type and how many batteries people are using for the coach.
I have several of the big 8D batteries and not sure how many I should use. I would like to use just 1 cause space under the bus is getting limited.
I mainly will be camping in powered sites with the occasional 3-4 day boondocking. Will not be using any inverters.

Depends entirely on your load what you require. Without knowing that, we can't really tell you much beyond 'more is better' or the like.

The load really wouldn't be much. fridge, water pump, furnace, a dozen or so light, radio, and a vent fan or two. not planning on using any high draw appliances.
mainly just want to know what others are using.

A 30,000 btu Suburban furnace uses 8.5a. Figure 50% run time and 50% of batt. cap. gives about 11 hours on a 100ah batt. Your math may vary but they are power pigs.

We have 5 ah batts, 200w solar and run a res. fridge through a 2000w inv. (no fan heat), 13"tv, XM, a few led lights and in those same 3-4 days I see 12.0-12.2 v and recharge then.

I run an 8d for starting and 12v stuff. Its topped off by its own 300 watt panel and charge controller
I have 8 t105s wired in 2 strings for 440ah at 24v
Id have to try pretty hard to run out of juice.
My fridge is an electric chest freezer, ill run ac for an hour or two, and I can use as many lights as I like without worry. Its also sunny in Colorado and I have 900 watts for this system.
