Weldon 8005 Dome lamp LED Bulb

I was looking at the stock Dome lamps in my bus. Weldon 8005 lamps, I guess these lamps have been used in buses for the past 30 years. I thought I might reuse a couple of them, and until I do I'll replace the bulbs with LEDs so that I don't drain the battery if I am out in the bus for now.

I believe I found the stock replacement bulb of 8005-9200-30

But where google skills are apperently failing me is finding the part number for some LED replacement bulbs.

I am guessing this has been discussed before, but when searching this forum 'LED' apparently is way too common of a term and it ignores that.

So anyone know what fits or will i just have to go down to BulbsPlus with one of my old ones and see what I find?

In my bus those bulbs are 1156.

There are a million LED equivalents.

I checked one of mine, I was hoping for something that easy, but its the funky original weldon bulb which is a different shape that was more slim than an 1156.

But if a 1156 will fit, that sort of opens the flood gate since I think 1157 is probably the only bulb used more than an 1156.

Thanks for your help
Pic of an original bulb for reference, and an 1156 if anyone else stumbles across this later and isn't sure if we are talking about the same bulb.

I looked for the specs for the base of the bulb and then searched for LED replacement.
Check out the eletricspecs and try and ffind something here:

It's ba15d base

Here's a 12v replacement, cost is 10x's the other.

I didn't find much info online for the weldon bulb, so its great that you found some. I think the d at the end is for dual filament though (and this is a single). But if a 1156 fits, then ba15s is correct for the base.

my fault for not looking at the example photo I pulled down, as i just noticed it does look like a double filament bulb. What i pulled out of my light socket was single.

Always good to know. I am curious, is there a different abbreviation for the offset bayonette style (1157) vs the inline bayonette Style (1156).

I put in my 1156 replacements in the bus dome lights the other day, and they worked out well with more light than I had before, whiter light (since i got bright white rather than warm white), and I don't have to worry about the batteries if I am inside the bus for a few hours at night.

Good call. LED's are definitely the way to go in a Skoolie.
