What type of tape to secure eve lifepo4 280ah cells together?

I need to tape 4 lifepo4 eve 280ah cells together to make a 12v battery pack? What type of tape and width would you recommend to use?

Probably just a wide electrical tape is what I'd use.

You could also use kapton tape which is yellow and clear and very heat resistant. Heat resistance is it's main design purpose, so much so it can resist up to 400c degrees and is good for a battery application.

Electrical tape may not be great heat resistant at all but can stretch better should the battery expand and isn't electrically conductive. Kapton also isn't electrically conductive.

Those are the two that come to mind. Avoid really sticky tapes like duct tape or gorilla tape.

You can buy an inexpensive case on Amazon or eBay. I'd personally want to have them in something for mounting, and you could take a cell out easily.

If you just had to tape them, good strapping tape comes to mind. Use something that won't stretch.

i used the 3m vhb tape.

its worked well for the years i've had the battery. the down side is now if i want to redo the battery, getting the tape off will probably do a bit of damage.

right now im rebalancing the battery, and i cant tear it down and hook it up in parallel to balance it easily. i have to charge each cell individual to balance them. so ... doable, but not as easy.

i built my battery follwing the will prowse website instructions... but it may have change by now, ...like i said this is a few years old...... i think i got the battery in 2017.

my lifepo bms reports i've run it 24 charge cycles in its lifetime.

There are polymer cases are sold for these. I would recommend this versus taping the rectangular cells together for the versatility with regard to mounting and maintenance/cell replacement.
