Hello again nomadic people.
So, I know there are a ton of threads on electrical issues and questions and I have looked through some of them, but its the end of the day and I'm just at my wits end.
I'm getting deep into our bus build now. Been collecting building supplies and appliances all winter while working, and just started getting back into the build full-time. Just finished the subfloor today. Super excited and super tired.
One of the features of our build I try to research on every day is the solar/electrical system. I really don't want to screw up that system, but I am also a noob to electrical work.
I'll list the components I have for my system so far, then I'll list my questions:
Components:
- 4x 100 Watt Solar panel kit (Renogy)
- 40amp MPPT Charge Controller (Renogy)
- 2000 watt Inverter (Renogy)
- 1x 200 AH Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery (Renogy)
- Renogy Battery Monitor
- ST Blade Fuse Block for DC appliances
- ANL 200 amp Fuse w/ holder
- 50 amp circuit breaker
- I plan on ordering a 12v 40amp DC to DC charger to connect to shore
My build so far is mainly based off of this setup:

I also read William Prowse's book on Mobile Solar Power.
Questions:
- I plan on multiple AC outlets (at least one per room [4 rooms in total]), so I know I need an AC distribution center of some kind. Is there a difference between a breaker box and fuse box, or is one preferable over the other for AC connections? What kind of distribution center should I get?
- What kind of wire do I need to use for the High output AC terminal on the inverter that runs to the AC distribution center?
- Is a 40 amp battery charger adequate for this system if I were to only use it to charge the battery from shore power?
I know these questions may have been answered in some way deep in some other thread, or perhaps in another forum. But thank you for all of y'alls help. This has been driving me crazy.
