Wiring reverse lights 1986 B6000

Bus: 1986 Chevy B60/B6000 6.0L/366cu in, GAS, V8, Bluebird 35ft body, 5spd manual

How the heck do I wire this thing? Where do I start? What area?

Currently, have no backup/reverse lights. I'd like to wire in:
1. White LED reverse lights (PRIORITY)
2. White LED backup assisting lights (floodlights, spotlights, lightbar, etc) and/or outdoor working lights on the bus. If this adds a lot of cost/time/expertise/difficulty to just the reverse light wiring, then I'll focus on just that)

Would I run them off starter batteries? House batteries? Separate batteries altogether? (Seems overkill)

Your question is hard to answer...

Where to start...?...

With a plan.
You mention house batteries, start batteries, extra batteries...

What are you trying to do long run?
What all is this system going to power when you are done?

Back up lights... Shouldn't be too bad. You are over thinking this one.

Pretend this is just an old Chevy and start tracing wires/testing switches. Fix or replace the broken ones and wire in the new LED lights. LED will most likely pull less amps than original, so it is not necessary to re-invent the whole electrical system just for this.

Other lighting, especially any higher amp stuff would need to be part of the pre-mentioned plan.

Hope that was helpful.

misunderstood?

Does "not having any backup/reverse lights" mean that they don't exist, or they don't work?

My response was assuming that they are there, but non-functional.
Just for clarification.

The lights exist, just don't work.

the screws that hold the lights to the body are the ground.
clean the holes they go through and or make new holes by turning the light a little bit.
next would be the pressure switch.
mine is in the side of the transmission
