12v water filters

Hi folks!

I'm wondering if anyone is using something like this 12v water filter and has any real world feedback on it?
I'm planning on spending some time in Baja over the winters. I know that getting purified water in jugs is the norm there but it seems to me that having a filter like this, that can apparently deal even with river water, would be a good bit of kit to add to my rig and would be very handy in an emergency too.

I haven't yet found many reviews on it - or alternatives that are like it. I'm familiar with the Berkeys but don't have the counter space.

Seems really neat, wonder what the water reject rate is for the RO filter?

I'm assuming that the pump is to push the water through the membrane. I was thinking of using a small under sink filter set and a pressure tank with an air bladder connected to my air system. When parked of course. I would vent the tank bladder, fill the water side with water and charge the bladder from my air brake tank to push the water through the membrane into a separate small water storage tank for drinking and cooking.

it looks like a nice unit.

i bought more ro units than i care to think about and 1 thing i've learned is not to believe their discharge rates.

that looks fine if you only want a pitcher of water a day. if you were trying to fill tanks, you'd want a much larger ro unit.

if i were trying to fill a 50gal rv tank, i'd look for an ro that makes 200 gallons a day or more and it will still be slow.

like the others mention, rejection rate is a big concern too. lots of ros reject 8 to 1 or worse so 50 gallons of ro means you pumped 350 gallons down the drain to make 50 gallons of drinking water.
