Clueless: Do septic systems require inspections?

I am looking to buy my first school bus to convert, and have many questions. I am trying to find out whether or not my converted bus septic system will require an inspection?

First,it's not a septic system, it's just some sort of storage for waste. It could be tanks or some sort of composting toilet.

Depends on where you live.
Really, there exists somewhere an "inspector of RV toilet systems" If there is one, my first order of business would be to move.

Seriously Jennifer, I don't think you have much to worry about. Even the places that require you to have such things in order for it to be called an "RV" aren't even going to
check to see if it's hooked up.

And welcome aboard. It's good to ask questions

Re: Clueless: Do septic systems require inspections?

check your state's dmv for registering your bus as an rv. my state required me to sign an affidavit saying i had installed 5 of 7 items that they had on a list to qualify as an rv. heating, plumbing, cooking, refriderator... and some others...

the dmv did not inspect the vehicle to see if the affidavit was true or not.

good luck.... it lots of fun
