Do Grey water tanks get abraided?

Hi Folks,

I think this is a silly questions, but here goes...
I was wondering if I should add some sort of padding above and below my grey water tanks to keep any wearing away from vibration while driving from place to place.
Is this something that folks do?
If yes, any product or manufacturer suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

I would not expect any abrasion/chaffing if the tanks are mounted very securely/rock solid. Secure mounting is important since they are very heavy (my full fresh water tank weights something around 1,250 lbs) and heavy things moving can quickly become a dangerous thing.

Assuming we are talking about plastic tanks mounted with metal of some sort, I would still add some abrasion protection for good measure. I know leather and old fire hose are two materials commonly used for that - probably many others.

Thank you very much, JD. Good feedback.

I tried searching for abrasion padding and things like that, but I guess I'll have to get a little more creative.

Yep, I want to make it as solid as possible, but Murphy's Law seems to be alive and well.

Thx.
